The condition affects his skin, hair, blood and brain. Oliver has suffered significant hair loss due to his lupus that also affects his skin, especially his face. Oliver is also short for his age due to long term steroid therapy. He has endured had multiple treatments including chemotherapy, over 50 IV Methylprednisolone infusions, Rituximab course x2. Despite his significant disease that has been resistant to multiple treatments he has just finished another course of chemotherapy and extreme hair loss and skin issues, Oliver has maintained good school attendance and peer relations.

He has a very positive attitude, an awesome sense of humour and is very quick witted. He always has a smile on his face, despite his condition. Oliver lives in East Fremantle with his parents George and Amelia, and his year-old brother Isaac. Lucy, 8, lives with cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia.

Prior to hip surgery in September , Lucy was able to walk in a foldable walker most of the time. Unfortunately following her surgery, Lucy lost her confidence, experienced pain and had significant fear about taking weight on her legs again. She was limited to the confines of her wheelchair. Understandably Lucy was anxious about learning to walk again. Lucy loves a laugh and is fun and cheeky. Lucy was an incredible role model to her peers, regularly saying hello to the other children and cheering them on during their sessions.

She also kept the therapists on their toes, always coming up with new and inventive ways to keep her sessions fun.
